The Africa International Conference on Clean Energy and Energy Storage (AICCEES) 2024 brought together over 500 participants including energy industry leaders, policymakers, and researchers. The conference, which was held at the Institute of Petroleum and Energy Studies (IPES), University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, from 26th to 27th November 2024 specifically aimed at facilitating discussions about innovative solutions for sustainable energy in Africa.
As a leading institution in the field of clean energy, ACE-FUELS contributed immensely towards the success of the conference. From being a silver sponsor of the event, to having its Centre Leader, Prof Emeka Oguzie, give a keynote speech, ACE-FUELS set the pace for insightful discourse on skilling-up for the energy transition. The Centre had 10 representatives in attendance, with 3 research papers presented by its students.
Generally, AICCESS 2024 was a great opportunity to advance clean energy-related discussions and share findings and views with the energy industry players. Participants were optimistic about the future of clean energy, with many citing the collaborative spirit of institutions such as ACE-FUELS, as crucial for progress.
