Abuja, Nigeria – Professor Emeka Oguzie, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research, Development & Innovation at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) and Centre Leader of the Africa Centre of Excellence for Future Energies and Electrochemical Systems (ACE-FUELS), has been awarded the Piql Award for Heritage Preservation.
The award was presented at Piql Nigeria’s Public Sector Breakfast Meeting 2.0, themed “Building Nigeria’s Data Repository for an AI-Powered Future: The Trillion Dollar Economy,” held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.
Professor Oguzie was honoured alongside top government officials and cultural leaders, including:
