We’re excited to share that the Centre Leader, Prof. Emeka Oguzie, recently paid a courtesy visit to the Technology Incubation Centre (TIC), Owerri. This is as follow up to the earlier visit of the TIC Owerri Centre Director, Dr. Mrs. Gift Eze, to ACE-FUELS. The Technology Incubation Centre, which is supported by the National Board for Technology and Incubation (NBTI), aims to promote the development of technology-based start-ups, technology transfer, commercialization, and encourage entrepreneurship among researchers and academics.
The visit was to further strengthen collaboration between TIC and ACE-FUELS, in the critical area of commercialization of research output, for positive impacts on society.
Prof. Oguzie commended NBTI on the provision of practical solutions that have enhanced the well-being of the citizens of Nigeria through entrepreneurship and went further to explain that NBTI has a track record of supporting entrepreneurs and start-ups in various skills, providing them with the necessary guidelines, resources and the infrastructure to transform their ideas into successful ventures.
The Director, TIC Owerri, Dr. Mrs. Gift Eze, expressed her satisfaction and reiterated her organization’s commitment to collaborate with ACE-FUELS. “With the resources of both organizations, this partnership is envisaged to drive innovation and development,” she stated.
The ACE-FUELS team had an interactive tour of the TIC facilities, where they were shown how local products such as engine oil, petroleum jelly, honey, soya milk, and hair creams are manufactured, licensed and packaged.
