The Africa Centre of Excellence in Future Energies and Electrochemical Systems (ACE-FUELS) is a leading centre at the Federal University of Technology Owerri committed to advancing renewable energy, electrochemical innovation, and sustainable development. ACE-FUELS is actively engaged in advanced research on next-generation solar cells, dye-sensitized solar cells, battery systems, electrochemical sensors, and related sustainable technologies. The centre uses a combination of computational and experimental methods to develop locally relevant energy solutions and improve commercialization potential.
The centre’s activities are supported by its General Purpose Research Laboratory and a growing infrastructure base for training and research. ACE-FUELS also continues to expand its institutional ecosystem through new facilities and support structures for visiting researchers.
