The African Materials Degradation Society (AMDS) invites expressions of interest from dedicated professionals to serve in its Interim Executive Committee (IEC). This is a critical leadership phase as we lay the foundation for Africa’s premier platform focused on infrastructure durability and materials degradation science.
We welcome applicants from all parts of Africa and the diaspora who meet the following criteria:
Background in materials science, corrosion engineering, infrastructure, chemical sciences, or related disciplines. Proven interest in materials degradation, infrastructure resilience, or related policy.
Experience in managing teams, coordinating programs, or leading initiatives. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Passion for Pan-African collaboration and inclusive scientific development. Willingness to dedicate time over a 6–12 month interim term (avg. 5–8 hrs/month).
We encourage participation from women, youth, francophone/lusophone regions, and underrepresented areas in the materials space.
