He identified effective and efficient communication as one sure means of achieving the African Centre of Excellence set goals and objectives. In attendance were over 60 participants comprising communication officers from African Centres of Excellence from all the African regions, Public Relations officers from Higher Institutions and Nigeria’s National Universities Commission(NUC) as a regulatory body.The facilitators were experts in Communication, journalism, media relations and graphic designs.

The key objective of the three-day training workshop was to equip Communication Officers with the necessary knowledge, skills and strategies to function effectively at their various Africa Centres of Excellence. The workshop also focused on the best practice in internal and external communication strategies that raise motivation and productivity in institutions.

The communication officer is at the centre of information dissemination and brainstorming.
