ACE-FUELS Centre Leader, Prof. Emeka Oguzie delivered a keynote lecture at the Inaugural Annual Research Symposium of the new Carbon to Metals Coating Institute at Queen’s University, Kingston, Canada. The lecture titled.
“Natural products for materials protection” highlighted the groundbreaking research efforts of the corrosion research group at ACE-FUELS on green anticorrosion additives from biomass extracts. The Carbon to Metals Coating Institute is a multidisciplinary and multi-institutional project, with mandate to find new ways to prevent corrosion of metallic infrastructure. The Institute and ACE-FUELS are part of the global collaborative project tagged ‘Excellence of Canadian corrosion education through internationalization, equity, and interdisciplinarity’. Prof. Oguzie visited the laboratory of Prof. Yoland Hedberg (Principal investigator CORRECT Project) at Western University, as well the state-of-the art Surface Science Western.
