The High Council for the Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (HCÉRES), France, has granted FUTO full accreditation for M.Sc. Corrosion Technology and M.Sc. Future Energies offered at the Africa Centre of Excellence in Future Energies and Electrochemical Systems (ACE-FUELS).
HCÉRES is the independent administrative authority responsible for evaluating all structures of higher education and research, or validating the procedures for higher education and research in France, as well as other institutions of higher learning across the globe.
The accreditation for the two programmes, which spans five years (27th June, 2024 – 26th June, 2029), was confirmed after the external evaluation implemented by HCÉRES in January 2024, and according to the accreditation criteria adopted by HCÉRES Board on 29th September, 2022. The accreditation certificates were signed by Stéphanie Le Bouler, Acting President of the HCÉRES, and presented to Prof. Nnenna Oti, Vice-Chancellor, FUTO and Prof. Emeka Oguzie, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Development and Innovation), FUTO and Centre Leader, ACE-FUELS.
This global accreditation is a testament to the culture of excellence propagated at FUTO, as well as the unwavering commitment towards upholding the highest standards of research and learning at ACE-FUELS, delivering excellent education, using excellent faculty, based on excellent
administration, in an excellent learning and research environment.
With this positive outcome, other programmes of the Centre are currently being processed for international accreditation.
