The Africa Centre of Excellence in Future Energies and Electrochemical Systems (ACE-FUELS) in conjunction with Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Procurement, Environmental and Social Standards (CE-SPESS) organized the inaugural edition of FUTO Women of Excellence Day, in commemoration of the 2023 International Women’s Day.

The FUTO Women of Excellence Day is established to celebrate exploits of excellent women, pioneering teaching, research and administration in FUTO. The Vice- Chancellor Federal University of Technology Owerri, Prof. Mrs. N.N. Oti, who declared the ceremony opened retirated the importance of Gender Equity in the society, stating that empowering women spurs productivity and economic growth. Thus, it is essential to secure equal access to quality education and health, economic resources and participation in all spheres of endeavours.
